Instrumentation for Operators - Lewiston

This course will cover the basics of instrumentation as used in modern plant environments. Employing a combination of theory and hands-on practice, participants will learn how to identify, configure, test and calibrate different instrument types. You wil learn:
Process Safety: 1) Process safety considerations 2) PPE  3) Electrical Safety Review
Process measurement and instrument types: 1) Temperature 2) Pressure 3) Level  4) Flow 5) Analytical 6) Examples in water/wastewater plants
Signals: 1) Current 2) Voltage 3) Pneumatic 4) Digital
Meter Usage: 1) Voltage Measurement 2) Current Measurement
Temperature transmitter connection and calibration: 1) RTD connections 2) Connecting multimeter to transmitter 3) Simulating sensors 4) 5-point calibration
Pressure Transmitter calibration (as time permits) 1) Connecting meter to pressure transmitter 2) Simulating pressure 3) 5-point calibration
These are the same teachers who taught the popular hands-on Motor Controls and Variable Frequency Drive Systems class last year.
