Emerging Contaminants and Emergency Response for Wastewater Systems - Rathdrum & Online

This FREE three-hour webinar will offer the following training:

Topic #1: Emerging Contaminants:  This portion of the training session will give a general overview of what Per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are, where they come from, and the current state of PFAS regulations that may impact wastewater systems in Idaho.  We will cover PFAS occurrences around the State and discuss what you can do to better understand if and how PFAS may impact your wastewater system. This course will discuss PFAS in biosolids and the current regulations that impact biosolids disposal, PFAS in wastewater discharge, and how PFAS is likely to affect the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit process. Lastly, we will talk about how pharmaceuticals are affecting wastewater systems.
Instructor: Leah Opitz, Merrick & Company

Topic #2: Emergency Response for Wastewater Systems – This portion of the training will give an overview of the importance of having an emergency response plan and implementing a training program. We will review tasks and considerations when developing a risk and resilience assessment. There will be an in-depth discussion on cybersecurity considerations and developing a cybersecurity action plan.
