Groundwater Flow and Water Quality Impacts in Eastern Idaho - Driggs & Online

Groundwater is the dominant source of drinking water for public water systems in Idaho. Knowledge of how groundwater flows to wells and the factors influencing that flow is critical to providing this valuable resource. Protecting both future water quality and quantity requires both an understanding of the potential concerns and how to respond to those concerns. This training will review general groundwater concepts, provide an understanding of potential sources of impacts, and review how to sample to understand these sources for your community. This 2-hour course will discuss specific local examples of water quality impacts, as well as concerns related to protecting your community's water rights, managed aquifer recharge, and vulnerability related to rapid development.
